Monitoring of Cadmium and Lead in the kidneys of ovine and caprine animals , in Albanian area.

Exposure of human populations to Cadmium (Cd)  and Lead (Pb) from food and products thereof may produce effects in organs such as the kidneys, liver, lungs, cardiovascular, immune and reproductive systems. Since Cd and Pb have been identified as a human carcinogen, biomarkers for early detection of susceptibility to cancer are of an importance to public health [1]. The ability to document Cadmium and Lead  exposure and uptake of this elements through monitoring is a good step towards understanding its health effects. We have carried out a monitoring, in three years, in different areas of Albania. Our target was the monitoring of the accumulation of Cd and Pb in the kidneys of sheep. We chose sheep for two reasons.
