Professor Ersilia Buonomo is Associate Professor of Hygiene and Public Health at the Department of Biomedicine and Prevention, “Tor Vergata” University of Rome since 18 of November 2004.
On 28th July 1982 she graduated in Medicine and in 1985 she specialized in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine. In April 1994 she obtained her PhD in Epidemiology and Microbiology at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and in the same year became Researcher at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”.
Since 2006 up to now she is appointed to teach Epidemiology and Hygiene at the Faculty of Medicine "Our Lady of Good Counsel" in Tirana, Albania.
In 2017 Prof. Ersilia Buonomo obtained the National Scientific Qualification as full professor in the scientific sector 06 / M1-General and Applied Health, Nursing and Health Statistics.
Form 2018 is President of the University Degree in Pediatric Nursing at the IRCSS Pediatric Hospital “Bambino Gesù” of Rome – Italy
She has participated in more than 200 scientific papers presented at national and international congresses which have been published in national and international journals. Scopus H index 16 and 1003 Citations.
Since October 2023, she has received the mandate by the Rector of the Catholic University "Our Lady of Good Counsel" in Tirana, Albania, for the "Gender Equity Plan, Measures for the Diversity abled people and Social Engagement."
