Politically Correct, Cancel Culture and Identity: What Scenarios?

The international conference “Politically Correct, Cancel Culture and Identity: What Scenarios?”, organized by the Faculty of Economic, Political and Social Sciences of the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel” and the Department of Legal Sciences of the University of Pisa, will take place on January 22, 2026 starting at 11:00 a.m. in the Aula 105.


The international conference “Politically Correct, Cancel Culture and Identity: What Scenarios?”, organized by the Faculty of Economic, Political and Social Sciences of the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel” and the Department of Legal Sciences of the University of Pisa, will take place on January 22, 2026 starting at 11:00 a.m. in the Aula 105.

The conference examines the impact of political correctness and cancel culture on the construction of individual and collective identity, with particular attention to the role of symbols, fundamental rights, and institutional practices in the European context. It will also address issues related to inclusive language, the protection of dignity, and the potential consequences of excessive regulation on freedom of expression, offering a critical perspective on future developments in public and normative debate.
