The specialist in Nephrology must have acquired theoretical, scientific, and professional knowledge in the field of pathophysiology and clinical diseases of the kidney and urinary tract; the areas of clinical and research expertise are functional and instrumental semeiotics, clinical methodology and dietary, pharmacological, and instrumental therapy in nephrology with particular regard to the replacement therapy of renal function through dialysis and transplantation. The duration of the course is five years.
