EUROPEAN FEDERATION OF CATHOLIC UNIVERSITIES GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel” brought to Tirana the most important event for the community of Catholic universities in Europe, the General Assembly of the European Federation of Catholic Universities, FUCE, on October 20-22, 2022. FUCE aims to promote dialogue between members, institutions, researchers, and other social actors.

At the opening of the ceremony greeted the President of Our Lady of Good Counsel Foundation Father Jerome Ndo Mih, the President of the European Federation of Catholic Universities, Rev. Prof. Michael Mullaney, Rector of Catholic University "Our Lady of Good Counsel", Prof. Bruno Giardina and Father Bernard Caruana, Vicar General in the diocesan Church of Tirana-Durres.

H.E. Msgr. Angelo Vincenzo Zani, Archivist, and Librarian of the Holy Roman Church gave a speech on the global pact for education. He expressed the message of Pope Francis, who insists on the need to invest all talents to bring about a new universal solidarity and a more welcoming society. Pope Francis calls for a new era of educational engagement involving all members of society. For this reason, he invites families, communities, schools, universities, and institutions that is, all of humanity to sign a compact on education, committing to put the person in the center.

The Assembly lasted three days and on the last day concluded with the election of the president and board of FUCE.

This was a successful event where the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel” presented the progress achieved in recent years but also Albania became better known to a wide community of researchers distinguished by all of Europe.
