Title of the project: HEALTH CONNECT - Health Education and Advanced Learning Through Collaboration, Opportunities, Networking, and Educational Connections in Balkans and Asian Countries
Project start: 09.2024
Project end: 03.2026
Summary:
The project aims to establish a consortium of universities committed to promoting and transferring best practices of the Italian higher education system to Western Balkan countries not yet members of the European Union, as well as to Eastern Asia. The educational and research activities of the consortium are based in the One Health approach, which views health as an integrated concept encompassing individuals, the environment, and animals, and is inherently interdisciplinary. The project promotes a contemporary vision of medicine, closely linked to technological innovation, prevention, and healthy lifestyles, while integrating contributions from engineering, environmental sciences, and social sciences. Within this framework, it addresses key themes such as infrastructure safety, environmental sustainability, circular economy, psychological well-being, cultural heritage preservation, and sustainable tourism.
The main objectives of the consortium include student and academic staff mobility, the establishment of double and joint degree programmes, joint PhD programmes, knowledge transfer activities, scientific and training events, and the strengthening of international research cooperation.
Coordinator: University of Salento
