Duration:18 months

Summary:
ADRIAPLAN, a project sponsored by the European Union, which will develop a cross-border approach to Marine Space Planning (MSP) across the Adriatic and Ionian Macro- Region, and more specifically between the two "Focus Areas" (Northern Adriatic and Southern Adriatic / Northern Jon). The main point will be the implementation of the Integrated Maritime Policy. The proposed approach is based on the best one's knowledge and will be operated with the support of institutional partners and observers and also with the involvement of the main stakeholders, interested in presenting detailed proposals and recommendations for cross-border implementation of MSPs. The proposal will boost a harmonized implementation, considering it an ecosystem approach, based on the EU Directives on Water and Maritime Affairs, including the ICZM Protocol for the Mediterranean (the new proposal proposed by the ICZM-MSP Directive (COM (2013) 133 at the end).
