As part of the University, the Nursing Study Program is also held at the headquarters of the Catholic University "Our Lady of Good Counsel" in Elbasan. Its activity began in 1994 as a school for Professional Nurses, through an agreement signed between the Ministry of Health and the Catholic Church in Albania, constantly updating programs under the European norms. It shares the principles and values of the Foundation "Our Lady of Good Counsel", which are also materialized with a student-centered approach, while providing a full and personalized training at the cultural, healthcare and social level, putting together technical advances with human and ethical development. It fosters the development of university education of Albanian young people, scientific research and continuous training of local health personnel, with the aim of preparing graduates, experts and specialists formed at the highest moral values, capable of assisting in the material and spiritual development of the society. It provides a professional learning and assessment process qualified at the European standards and also provides students with the opportunity of internships in Italy or scholarships.
At the end of the program the graduate students are conferred a double Bachelor's Degree with the "Tor Vergata" University of Rome, recognized in Albania, Italy and all European Union countries.
Since 1994, 276 nurses have been graduated and at the present the number of Graduate Students is 290, with 93% being already employed (87% in the health care field, 13% in other areas).
Students proceed with internships in the public institutions of Elbasan and some other cities of Albania, in the family care service for the terminal patients in the district of Elbasan managed by "Sisters of Charity", in the ambulance located in the university premises including the schools of Elbasan and other cities.
The present organizational structure provides the following services:
multimedia hall, auditorium / seminar halls, library, simulation rooms, meal service, as well as the possibility of a dormitory for girls with a free-choice of room-mates, meetings and social moments.
