On June 5, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at the Blue Box at the Pyramid of Tirana, the fourth meeting of the conference cycle TALKS@UNIZKM_2024 CONTEMPORARY ITALIAN ARCHITECTURE will be held: Renato Capozzi - "Projects for the City", initiative of the Faculty of Applied Sciences of Catholic University "Our Lady of Good Counsel".
This activity is part of the Italian Week in cooperation with the Italian Embassy in Tirana and the Italian Institute of Culture.
The talks will focus on illustrating and describing some projects for the city - created on competitions or consultations and academic research - which testify to an attitude that combines the exact continuity and/or discontinuity of the historical Italian city, but also in a wider dimension.
In the different selected cases, it is about specific urban inserts, connections, new primary elements placed in a decisive rapport with layered morphologies, urban voids, and natural and open spaces.
All projects at the linguistic level, in the investigation of the rapport between construction and form as a specific expressive modality of architecture, or of the proper character in relation to
the topics to be presented always establish appropriate dialectical connections with the urban environment, with its textures, with its public spaces.
