“As part of the Erasmus+ KA171 staff mobility, between the University of Urbino Carlo Bo and the Catholic University of Our Lady of Good Counsel, from 19 to 23 May 2025,  Dr. Bianka Hoxha delivered a cycle of lectures at the Faculty of Pharmacy – Department of Biomolecular Sciences, engaging both students of the Faculty of Pharmacy and doctoral candidates enrolled in the PhD program in Biomedical and Health Sciences.

Her lectures focused on key thematic areas, including the impact of folate on neurodevelopment and neurodegenerative conditions, with reference to autism spectrum disorders, and the role of lipid metabolism in cardiovascular risk, approached through advanced biochemical and clinical perspectives. The sessions emphasized the integration of genetics, epigenetics, and public health nutrition, encouraging students to connect molecular mechanisms with broader clinical implications.

Interactive teaching techniques such as case discussions, clinical scenarios, and comparative public health strategies were employed to stimulate student engagement and support the practical application of theoretical knowledge.

During the visit, Dr. Hoxha also had the opportunity to meet Prof. Daniela Ligi, whose expertise and openness to academic exchange led to an insightful dialogue on how to build more integrated, interdisciplinary learning experiences. Their discussion highlighted the importance of connecting pharmacology, nutrition, and genetics in ways that resonate with real-world public health challenges.”
