The international conference titled “Microcredit: An Instrument of Social Cohesion” was organized at the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel” in Tirana and funded by the European Erasmus+ program within the framework of the Jean Monnet modules.

It is a highly relevant and profound topic, inviting reflection on the social value of finance, the role of microcredit as a tool for inclusion, and the possibility of combining economic development with solidarity.

Microcredit, as we have heard, is not only an economic possibility but also an ethical and social choice capable of fostering cohesion, dignity, and trust, said Prof. Emiljan Karma from the Research Center on the Economy of Transition Countries during the conference.

The conference was welcomed by the Vice-Rector of UKZKM, Prof. Edmond Hajdëri, and the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Economic, Political, and Social Sciences of the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel,” Klodian Muço. The event moderator, Emiljan Karma, emphasized that this meeting represents not only an academic moment but also a gesture of community, where experiences, values, and perspectives for integral human development intertwine.
