This space is the first of its kind in Albania and will serve as a point of reference, reflection, relaxation and meditation for students, lectures, many friends of our institution, patients, and their families. The garden was conceived as a green space in the center of which are placed marble stones collected from all over Albania. The name of the first "Righteous One", Carlo Urbani, the doctor who reported to the world the spread of the Sars COV-1 virus in 2002, was engraved on one of these stones.
The reason for choosing the name of the late doctor Carlo Urbani is the fact that he demonstrated competence and responsibility in his humanitarian missions without boundaries, giving entirely of himself. The late doctor Carlo Urbani died of the virus at the age of 47. During the inauguration ceremony of the "Garden of the Righteous", the President of the "Our Lady of Good Counsel" Foundation, fr. Ruggero Valentini explained the importance attributed in this university space for the people who inspire and educate the new generations. The Rector of the University, prof. Leonardo Palombi invited students to visit this creative and motivating space. The deputy mayor of the municipality of Tirana, Mrs. Frida Pashako who was present at the ceremony, congratulated the University for the innovative initiative of creating this garden. While the archbishop of the metropolitan diocese of Tirana-Durres, Monsignor Arjan Dodaj, after blessing the "Garden of the Righteous", stated that this space should always remind us of the sacrifices to protect human life.
