In everyday life, you have surely heard of cases where first aid saved a human life. First aid is not only provided by medical and nursing staff but also by anyone trained in life-saving techniques.
On March 31, 2026, at the sports fields of the Grand Artificial Lake Park, starting at 11:30 AM, an open day of lectures and practical training will be held for all high school seniors in the city of Tirana.
The first aid course, also professionally known as BLS (Basic Life Support), teaches the basic techniques to save lives in emergency situations, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, chest compressions, artificial ventilation, and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). This course is part of the Nursing study program, but it is also open to the public, giving everyone the opportunity to respond quickly and save lives until medical assistance arrives.
The public lecture at the sports fields of the Artificial Lake will be conducted under the guidance of Lecturer Ervin Bejko and the coordinator of the Nursing program at the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel,” PhD Enkeleda Gjini.
On March 31, a particularly engaging part of the youth training program will be the seminar led by physiotherapist Florian Spada, PhD, head of clinical practices and the Physiotherapy study program at the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel,” focusing on improving posture, a phenomenon increasingly linked in recent years to problems experienced by adolescents and young people.
The entire event is carried out in collaboration with the Agency for Parks and Recreation
