Immediately after the International Day of Girls and Women, the Gender Equality Plan was promoted at the Aula Magna of the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel”, presented by Professor Ersilia Buonomo, Delegate of the Rector for the Gender Equality Plan.

This is an important document in these times, stated the Rector Prof. Leonardo Palombi, because according to him today the world needs a new generation that understands how important coexistence and harmony are in the protection of everyone's rights, to build a better society. Invited to this meeting with a high-profile audience, Prof. Anila Godo stated that gender equality is more than just a human right. Prof. Godo brought examples that support education and continuous training as a guarantee for a better society.

Dozens of students, girls and boys, gathered in the "Aula Magna" to follow this ambitious, detailed, courageous presentation of the objectives that come close to the best standards of the UKZKM. The three-year plan was praised by all speakers at the meeting. The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Guido Macchiarelli stated that the proposal of this plan as a mechanism of democratic development is a courageous step towards the respect that young people should have towards one another.

Prof. Ersilia Buonomo stated that this document was developed for 8 months by a dedicated group, with the aim of reducing the asymmetries that are created between genders, at a time when in developed societies there is a growing protagonism of girls and women. This plan, said Prof. Ersilia Buonomo, is open to collaboration by all. The Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel” introduces for the first time a three-year plan that defines the strategy to promote a culture of gender equality and reduce asymmetries, enhancing diversity.

Prof. Ersilia Buonomo, the Rector's delegate for the Gender Equality Plan, presented the plan which is in line with the United Nations sustainable development goals and with the indications of the General Directorate for Research and Innovation of the European Commission.

At the end, the film "C'è ancora domani" directed by Paola Cortellesi was screened for those present.
