The international conference of the Center for Research in Human Sciences (CRISU) was held in Tirana on 11 October 2023, at the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel”, organized by Prof. Mauro Bisceglia, Member of CRISU, Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel” and University of Bari “Aldo Moro”, entitled
**Economy and Finance, with a human face: new challenges for Albania**
The conference's foundation is determined by one of the main ideas underlying all institutions, not just education: sowing culture. In this case, the hope is to be able to sow a seed in the name of Pope Francis' Economy, following Civil Economy and Finance; that Economy and Finance that places the person as a human being in the foreground and aims to contain social inequalities through cultural as well as economic growth.
Fr. Ruggero Valentini, President, Nostra Signora del Buon Consiglio Foundation, Prof. Edmond Hajdëri, Vice-Rector of the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel” and Fr. Appolinaire Anguissa Metogo, Director of the Research Center in Human Sciences (CRISU), “Our Lady of Good Counsel” Catholic University delivered the institutional greetings.
Well-known Italian economists took part, in the presence of the host University's highest authorities, alongside the highest expression of the world of Italian cooperative credit, and they met with representatives of Albanian financial and governmental institutions.
The works drew the attention of the participants: students, teachers, administrators, and authorities; on some landmarks, at the foundation of that economy and finance that turns its gaze to poverty, as the Albanian Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection, Prof. Denada Seferi, has well highlighted; and inequalities, a topic finely treated by the economist Prof. Vitorocco Peragine; with the goal of moving towards an economy of happiness, as defined and widened by Themes that have found widespread overlap and complementarity, both in terms of objectives and the consequences that money has on a country. This was stated by Prof. Natasha Ahmetaj, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Albania. Of finance with a human face, of finance that does not produce dividends but distributes wealth, of finance that looks at small artisans rather than large investors, of finance that looks at the person as a human being and the community in which it lives, themes well highlighted in Cavaliere Augusto Dell'Erba's *lesson*. The lawyer's testimony brought the proceedings to a halt. Alessandro Mele is the President of the Putignano BCC, a community bank for the community.
Prof. Raul Caruso, Director of Cespic (European Center for Science of Peace, Integration, and Cooperation) at the Catholic University "Nostra Signora del Buon Consiglio," delivered a speech entitled "The path to an economy of peace".
