On the International Mountain Day, December 11, 2024, a special meeting organized by the "Our Lady of Good Counsel" Foundation was held at the 'Aula Magna' of the Catholic University "Our Lady of Good Counsel".
The activity, moderated by Dr. Bardhe Karra, Coordinator of the Faculty of Economic, Political and Social Sciences, was attended by nature enthusiasts, climbers and environmental protection experts, professional mountain guides, students and other participants.
The institutional greetings were delivered by Fr. Ruggero Valentini, President of the "Our Lady of Good Counsel" Foundation and Mr. Alessandro Ruggera, Director of the Italian Institute of Culture in Tirana. During the meeting, the speakers were Mr. Aleksandër Bojaxhi, Mountaineer, Director of the Tourist and Mountaineering Association, Tirana, and Mr. Fisnik Muça, mountain guide in Albania.
During the meeting, a very special book was also presented, which returns to the public after a long period: The Mountains of Albania, a 1941 publication by author Piero Ghiglione, republished on the occasion of this International Day through this initiative.
