Inequality: issues and opportunities in transition countries

On March 19th, 2020, CESPIC organized a meeting titled "Inequality: issues and opportunities in transition countries" which was held at the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel” in Tirana


CESPIC organized a meeting titled "Inequality: issues and opportunities in transition countries". The event intended to deal with inequality-related issues in transition economies from different angles. Prof. Vitorocco Peragine from University of Bari “Aldo Moro” expounded the large set of issues related to inequality in opportunities. Dr. Ledia Thomo from Albanian Institute of Statistics was focused on measurement of consumption as a channel to understand inequality in real terms. In addition, Dr. Enkelejda Havari, Research Economist, European Commission Joint Research Centre discussed youth unemployment and active labour market policies financed by EU funds. The meeting was opened by the welcome addresses of Father Daniele Bertoldi, President of “Our Lady of Good Counsel” Foundation, Prof. Bruno Giardina, Rector of the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel” and Prof. Vittorio Teotonico, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences. The was chaired by Prof. Raul Caruso, Director of CESPIC. 

The event was held in English, on March 19th at 16:00 pm.
