Study Program in Medicine lasts six academic years and contains 360 university credits (ECTS), which include primary didactic activity, preclinical and clinical practice. Pre-clinical and clinical practice corresponds to 78 credits in total. Part of the clinical activity is carried out near the hospital structures of the partner university in Italy. The didactic activity is administered by Italian professors of the University "Tor Vergata" in Rome, attending the same study plan with that of the partner university and classes are held in Italian. School attendance by students is compulsory up to 67% for each course.
The diploma issued at the end of the university studies is a double degree between the Catholic University and "Tor Vergata" University Rome, recognized in Albania, Italy and Europe, since every element of the process and curriculum is of the same standard. Doctors established in our University are the best witnesses of our Medical School, which has its main strength the close cooperation with the Italian university system. Our university benefits from centuries of experience and activity of the Congregation "Sons of Mary Immaculate" in the field of Health, which provides internship access to students in Italy at all the hospital institutions it owns.

Medical graduates acquire the basic scientific skills and the theoretical-practical education necessary to practice a doctor's profession. They also acquire the methodology and culture necessary for their long-term formation and professional decision-making and active autonomy. Their preparation in the ethical plan also enables them to be responsive to the important topics regarding the life of the individual and society today and also to face future challenges in scientific research as the field of medicine is in constant updating. A graduate doctor in medicine, after receiving the right to practice the profession subject to the Examination of State is able to work in the capacity of a general and family practitioner, at public or private health centers, hospitals and specialized medical centers. The doctor's profession consists in the diagnosis and therapy of all human pathological conditions, assisting in their prevention both individually and collectively.
The Double Diploma in Medicine allows graduates not only to practice the profession as a Physician, but also constitutes a basic criterion for pursuing Cycle III study programs such as the Specialization programs in the medical field as well as training courses in Albania and in Italy. Their professional orientation towards scientific and doctoral research is essential to graduates in Medicine, and can be carried out simultaneously or separately from direct service to the patient, including their interest in furthering their professional knowledge through the pursuit of the Executive Master program.
Fees & Scholarships
Annual tuition fee – 4.765,00 Euro
Candidates, citizens of Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, enrolling for the first time in the academic year 2020 - 2021, will receive scholarship for the first year study program as below:
- 15% of the annual tuition fee for the Medicine Study Program, when they have a high school average from 9.00 - 9.99, and
- 30% of the annual tuition fee when they have a high school average of 10.00.
The above fee comprises the full annual fee and the student does not pay extra fees when he/she has to take and /or repeat an exam.
