The project is a cooperation with the researchers of University of Milano and it is oriented towards basic and applied research. The identification and projection of inhibitory activity substances that can be used to cure protozoan diseases are project’s key purposes. Italian researcher staff have a consolidated experience in the design and synthesis of molecule able to have biological activity. Once identified, substances are subject to evaluation and improvement of pharmacokinetic parameters in order to be used in preclinical studies. The project is innovative because, for the moment, there are still no effective medications in this area.

Maritime Spatial Planning in the Adriatic and Ionian Sea
ADRIAPLAN, a project sponsored by the European Union, which will develop a cross-border approach to Marine Space Planning (MSP) across the Adriatic and Ionian Macro- Region, and more specifically between the two "Focus Areas" (Northern Adriatic and Southern Adriatic / Northern Jon). The main point will be the implementation of the Integrated Maritime Policy. The project focuses upon the dissemination of knowledge of administrative and managerial international models and of the needs of education and training in the Albanian reality of health services. The project was carried out by the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel”, in collaboration with scholars and experts from the University of Florence, Italy. Moreover, based on the bilateral cooperation of respective partners in the field of research, education and training, this action was undertaken to support Albanian healthcare reform.
